The football club don’t own the stadium, which was used for the Commonwealth rugby 7s. There were x66 fourteen min games over a couple of weeks.
Still terrible. They might not own the ground but surely they have some input into the pitch and its condition.

Effectively Wasps own the ground and rent it out to the Sky Blues for matches. Wasps make money out of it any way that they can, and bugger the football. They have not only leased it out for the Commonwealth Games this summer, but also for a series of concerts on the pitch too ! Coventry City Council are culpable too, for selling the stadium
to Wasps in order to attract Premiership Eggchasers to the City, despite there already being an existing Coventry RFC. Subsequently the Sky Blues had to groundshare with first Northampton, and then Birmingham City before an equitable deal could be brokered to return to the Ricoh.

Wasps are now, apparently, in default in respect of the loan payments on the ground. It is hoped a new buyer for the ground who also wants to buy the football club will come forward, giving Coventry City primacy over the stadium.
What a fiasco!

Has there ever been a club in history that has played their home games at 5 different stadia?

Newport county have had three I think (somerton park, moreton-in-marsh and now Rodney parade) but Coventry must have set a record?

Why haven't Coventry been sanctioned for failing the Fit & Proper Pitch test - they should never have been allowed to beat us at Wembley like Gargoyle getting a "COVID Bye" into L1 !

With a bit of luck if that happens they will turf Wasps out and send the beggars back home to Sudbury or failing that at least to Wycombe !

Newport also played at Spytty Park - I saw them get promoted from National South there. If I remember correctly Oldsmobile was there too that night.

Brighton have clocked up at least four, The Goldstone, Priestfield (Gillingham), Withdean and the Amex.
