The Serious Torquay Thread

After reading this I've decided to make my yearly Exeter donation cheque to be rewritten and sent to Torquay.
You don't need to Angus.;-)

It was just the serial bull****ter (and liar) making yet another lame excuse to justify his absolutely horrendous record as a manager, one in which has seen us relegated to the Conf with a whimper, 15th place in the Conference and has cost us nearly half our paying customers.
Every week it's the budget, the pitch, the fixtures, the refs, the inexperienced squad, then the budget again, anything but his management.

Personally, I think Hargreaves is either an idiot or just a dead man walking and lashing out at all and sundry on his way to the gallows; either way this is just another own goal by the club or one of it's employees.

The starting X1 might possibly have averaged something around 375 quid a week but it included 2 loanees, 2 non contract players and 1 kid from the academy - the bench included senior pros on good money and their is plenty of others out of our 27 man squad (ffs!) on very nice money - Hargreaves' budget is certainly in the top 5 or 6 in this league at least.

Anyway...I expect the board, who have chucked 100's of thousands in and Thea (millions) were less than impressed with having "Torquay pay their players 375 quid a week" splashed all over the Daily Mail etc.

So he's quickly retracted it...

Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
The wages thing is interesting . If the 375 thing had been true then for a 27 man squad that would be an annual budget of 540k. As it now appears it isn't true then Torquay have a higher budget than this. The average figure of 479 would point towards 675k per year.

Factor also in things like employers NI and pension contributions and it would be substantially more than that.

Jeesh, what a clown.

I genuinely feel a bit sorry for you having him at the helm.

Again, imagine the reaction on here if Tis had said something similar....

Newsflash Tisdale isn't the only football manager to have ever come out with something stupid and untrue.
