We’ve already got that ‘killer forward’, it’s just that he’s spent half the season out injured. I wonder if we genuinely could get another - we play one up front so this killer forward is going to be spending a lot of time benchwarming. What’s in it for him? Surely he’s going to be wanting to be on the pitch scoring goals, doing what we’re paying him to do, not watching someone else do it instead.
An interesting point. But whatever , we will need decent cover in case , heaven forbid , our number one forward gets injured again at a crucial stage of the season. That’s something for Matt to work out.

Yes this is the obvious answer. We can also easily rotate positions and players depending on if anyone is injured. For example if Jay isn't available, Brown can drop back and Nombe can play off the new CF.

We definitely need a top quality striker.

The further up the football food chain we go, Playing with one forward and he gets injured would be devastating if we only had him to rely on the goals, We need two strikers that's for sure, We've managed to share out the goals when needed this season but it could be harder to do that next season up in L1, As we've all said the summer recruitment will be vital and intresting to watch and will show our intent next season.

We need different and quality striking options (As we had 2nd half of the season).

Amond, Zanzala, Phillips all need replacing with similar options albeit league one quality options.

Yeh we need minimum 2 new forwards, depth was one of the reasons we went up this year. Nombe is good but injury prone and unproven at L1 level, we will sign another good quality striker and then maybe a loan IMO.

Agreed, Plus we want to stay there L1 quality is a must, Hopefully there will be a free agent or released player that will fit the bill, We are a good option for a player, We've proved this season you get a chance to develop or improve, That is our USP in my view.

Rosencrantz and I were talking after the game yesterday and the idea that maybe we already we had one in our midst with a bit of coaching and understanding in Josh Coley. He certainly has the movement and pace in him, it's just about moving his game 10-15 yards further forward and tweaking and adapting a little.

Coley is a good prospect and has talent but he is still very raw. He is only 23.

I agree with all the posts above about needing extra firepower, but my point was how will we attract such players if they’re going to be mainly playing second fiddle to Nombe? It won’t be a case of affordability, it’ll be about many minutes they can realistically expect on the pitch in their preferred position. As an example, would Zanzala or Phillips have come here had Nombe not been injured (and yes I realise that had he not been injured we might not have been looking to recruit in that position)?
