Only a fan would stand on the big bank.

Thought tonight's game was a missed opportunity. Unfortunately, after the first 15 minutes, the team fell into the 'friendly' mindset. Rather than concentrating on doing the basics properly, it was as if the main objective was to keep possession and then try the 'killer' ball. Time and time again, instead of playing the simple percentage pass, our players - unless playing sideways or backwards - opted for the low percentage option. Consequently, virtually every time we tried to move foraards, we lost the ball.

The main objective of tonight's game should have been to concentrate on creating chances. You do that by playing relatively simple football and shooting at every opportunity. Tonight, because we over complicated our forward play, we rarely got near enough to shoot.

Against that team we should have won by four or five, regardless of our lack of forwards. I can't believe that GC is satisfied with how we played tonight and as such, I am really starting to question his coaching and motivational skills.

I mean where do you draw the line we look shit absolutely shit and nobody's expecting anything against Bolton but if we get smashed like the Ipswich game that's more hammerings on Gary's watch then I can remember under even Tisdale's reign.

Where do you draw the bloody line?

We don't look like scoring EVER,and apart from 15 mins we looked crap yesterday and struggled to handle it against youth players I'm really surprised we didn't concede to be honest.

And sticking Diabate up front,I mean if your chasing the game and your trying anything to get back into it,fair enough but Gary's literally trying absolutely anything and nothing is working..

It's so depressing..

Remember. This was effectively a training exercise for both teams. It really didn't matter who played and where. A bit of mixing up is fine, because it really really really didn't matter.

In that case Pierce Sweeney is being economical with the truth in his newspaper column
I hate to break it to you, it isn't 'his newspaper column'. At the very least the communication boys at the club will be all over the text before it goes to the Express & Echo, making sure it keeps to the club's narrative. More likely still, is that the comms team write it for Pierce after (or perhaps before) having a chat about its contents with the player.

So the chances of gaining any real insights on whether GC has or has not 'lost the dressing room' are next to zero.

Besides, statements like 'lost the dressing room' are too absolute. Like most of the fanbase, my guess would be that the players respect Gary and his management team, but the last two months have taken their toll, so that they have lost a bit of confidence in them. I suspect that feeling is mutual and the result is a set up which looks a bit bewildered, wondering who is going to get us out of this mess.

As football team we're like a boxer who has forgotten how to punch.

I wouldn't read too much into this game. Remember a couple years ago we played Portsmouth away in the paint pot trophy with a youthful team and nearly beat their full strength team.

That looks like Yanic's goal. He seems to get the first touch on it towards goal and then perhaps hits the defender....come on goal-awarder people! Give it 'im!
