The Station is Fareham Station, Gosport's one closed years ago and where the line was is now used as a dedicated "Bus Road" connecting Fareham & Gosport, If you know the area you'd know what a real pain the main A32 is and how conjested it is. As for the Helipad being there, The area is a big military place with HMS Collingwood there (Navy Training) and various MOD sites plus defense companies, Perhaps back in the day a airfield was around there too. Here’s a strange one.
I recently saw an article about Steve Claridge becoming the new Manager of a team called Fleetlands.
I’d never heard of them so read up.
They’re based in Gosport and play in the Wessex League Division One.
According to Wikipedia their ground is the only one in the UK to have a helipad! (and a golf course).
I’m not sure why but they certainly do have both because I looked it up on Google Maps.
Their nickname is The Coptermen so there must be a connection of some sort.
They also have a railway station nearby but it’s not as close as ours
Really hope they come out the other end in tact, been following their results since an old schoolmate became their assistant manager.
