Bleddy hell. I didn't have maps of Derbyshire on my Christmas listšŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«
I hope to get up to our match at Burton in February.
Perhaps it might be wise to take a notepad and pen to write down some of the more obscure places we drive by or through in Derbyshire and Staffordshire so I can steal a march next December.
Iā€™ll still be hopeless on the Devon ones though.
Well done Alistair20000, the preparation and adjudication of the quiz must have been a massively complicated and time consuming effort. Thanks.

Well, it is the home of the Duke of Devonshire... and there are a number of pubs called the Duke of Devonshire

Wow, thanks again Al. I canā€™t promise that next yearā€™s quiz will be as good as this one but Iā€™ll give it my best shot. Iā€™ll certainly need some help beforehand on how to create a scoreboard please!

Such a tight race and, youā€™re right, my evening a couple of days back was the boost I needed but I only just managed to cling on. Of the 1.5 point winning margin, Iā€™d like to think that 1 point of that was my HH12 answer šŸ¤£ That question turned out to be a ā€˜6-pointerā€™

Anyway, Merry Christmas to the QM and to everyone else, may 2023 bring you all good health, good Jonathan Fortune and a home win against argyle in April.
I think Mr Dozen would have soon put ā€œhisā€ question in the net but you were on it fast. Could well have swayed the result.

A great battle between you and you both played really well.

I am sure you will serve us up an excellent Quiz next December fred. Just to pass on the advice that master QM Lionel gave me a couple of years ago.

"It is your Quiz. Do it your way but respect the Quiz traditions.ā€

My IT skills are not great and the main template of the scoreboard is slightly corrupted. When I can get my daughter to visit to fix it I will very happily e mail it to you with operating instructions.

If you want to give yourself an easy December 2023 you could put up just two pics. A mug with the words Greatest Bingo Caller In The World and the pic of the oldest mobile phone that you can find. By 24 December there will be just two correct answers from 70,000 + posts. They will be buried in the playful prosaic perambulations of Mr T Long who will get the 2 points by accident and be in the hot seat in 2024.

Meanwhile I have ordered these to get prepare.

FINAL SCOREBOARD

Well played to all.

We have already congratulated the top three.

manc rested on his laurels and missed out on Champions League to Swanny who scored heavily after some quiet years.

VCM powered iscalad surged on the last day to overtake Banksy.

Some impressive play from Bridgy on his Quiz debut
