It the realities of the transfer window. Not being able to get the players you want in coupled maybe with injuries means a player you may have been looking to loan out is now needed in the squad. That could change before the window ends and they might be looking to getting Jay out on loan in the last week or even day of the window.

We could well have been in the same situation with Sonny Cox if he wasn't injured and just coming back. If he was fit, in our current situation he would probably be on the bench. However if we get a couple of strikers in as we are looking to do, he would probably be made available for loan.

The difference of course is that we wouldn't be hemmed in by the transfer window loaning Sonny out to a non league club.

Jay Stansfield on the bench for Fulham today - think we can probably rule out any loan deal then!!
Another factor in our (in)ability to get loan deals.

With 9 on the bench in the PL this season, I suspect a lot of players who might in previous seasons have been loaned out to clubs like us will be held back, and given matchday experience without much chance of significant game time. Jay and others might get 5 minutes occasionally if teams are winning by 2 clear goals with a few minutes to go; but don't expect him to get much if any time today v Liverpool, his squad number is 65.

Would hope that there is still time, and players (or rather their agents) who have set their sights on a move to a Championship club might be more realistic before the 31st
