Looking forward....
If it helps, Rankine is awful. Runs around like a labrador chasing a ball in a field. Little step over, cut back, spin round, lose the ball, give up. When he eventually gets to the byline, he scuffs it to the first defender.

Not cut out for men's football at all.
City will have to sign you up as a motivational speaker 🤔

O.k. I understand that Reid had a serious injury and we let him go because we couldn't see his career progressing but why, when it became clear that he was over the injury at Torquay didn't we bring him back?
We'd put a lot of investment into his development and was an exciting prospect. This is not something I didn't say at the time.
In Reid's 89 appearances on loan at Torquay he scored 10 goals. Not exactly a goalscoring form to demand a recall.

Unfortunately it was after he signed permanently for them that he started scoring a goal a game.

I'm sure we could have bought him back if he was prepared to go to Manfield.

I notice that (with some exceptions), the players that do best for GC are all experienced pros, maybe because they're less reliant on instruction and guidance. Also, Rankine is fresh back from injury and playing in the worst possible set up for exploiting his talents. Jury's out for me. Wouldn't be the first player of that type to do little here before doing much more at a higher level... Ogbene, Kyle Edwards, eg.

but he was cack at Mansfield! It has literally taken him ten years to find his scoring boots and for all we know may turn out to be the proverbial one season wonder.

Let's play a 16 year old from the academy instead, so we can really fuk up his career before it's even got started.

Rankine has promise, but like the rest of our players currently, he's not consistently delivering.

Quite literally the only player we have currently who deserves any credit is Sinisalo.

Though to be fair I think Jules has 'outperformed' Hartridge in a defence that has only conceded 1 goal in two games :)

The signing who came into the loudest chorus of groans. Possibly the only signing that was met with general negativity, I think?

As if it was needed, their manager will have his team ‘fired up’ after some stuff that GC said earlier in the year. They’re supposed to be mates, but I suspect it will be feisty.
