Woods

Sweeney
Diabate
Hartridge

Rankine
Cole
Kite
Borges
Mitchell

Aitchison

Nombe

I think Gary will play 3-5-1-1 in the opening game. Pack the midfield and look to attack down the flanks with speed.
The midfield 3 of Kite, Cole and Borges is nowhere near good enough. Hopefully Trevitt is as good as people say and we can sign another player of quality. Kite, Trevitt and A N other (Carroll?)

Or he has Kite and Trevitt deeper with Aitchison higher up leaving Nombe up top with someone else, looking like Scott at the moment.

Not enough goals in that line up.

I'd argue there are more goals in that system than any other combination of players?

Rankine and Mitchell wing backs have goals in them.

Trevitt has a good goalscoring record and is apparently good at arriving late in the box. Aitchison seems a good number 10.

Nombe is a guaranteed 10-20 goals.

James Scott....yeah.

I keep seeing Woods name featuring in all these projected starting elevens. If that really is the case, we're in the sh#t!
Possibly because he is the only keeper we currently have available, although rumours are that may change tomorrow.

Or Aitchison scored a goal every five games in the league below. Trevitt and Rankine haven't played a game of proper football and Scott...well fingers crossed.

It really isn't. The stats don't lie. Failed clearances and headed clearances that don't clear the penalty box are a problem for him. Even today at Bath, his heading was a notable weakness. I still like him, as he is a talent on the ball, but I fear that talent will only take him so far.
If we are to progress from last season, we need to attract quality players ahead of Sweeney. Sweens will still contribute to the team over the space of the season, but as @Martin Lawrence points out, the stats dont lie.

Sweeney, like his mate Jake Taylor is a cult hero, but when Taylor left there was a noticeable difference in quality within the midfield. The same would apply to our defense.

I’ll go for this for a starting lineup on opening day.

Sinisalo - (expecting to be announced soon)
Rankine
Aimson
Diabete
Hartridge
Mitchell
Kite
TBD
Aitchison
TBD
Nombe

Subs:
Woods
Sweeney
Harper
Cole
Trevitt
Scott
Cox/Borges

I still expect/hope that an experienced CM (Carroll?) and another proven #10 or #9 will come in that will impact the starting 11.

This might be a little optimistic but here’s hoping. I don’t have Caprice in the squad as from what I hear he may not be with us come the start of the season. That will probably mean that another RWB will be brought in and it sounds like another CB may also come in so the bench may look a little different.

I really like the signings so far and if we can get a couple more proven quality players in then we will be looking good. The League will be stronger this year as you look at the likes of even Burton and Stevenage spending good money so it will still be tough, but I think we can go into it with optimism if we get those couple of experienced players that we need.

Aren't you short of a player? Looks like a 3 3 3 to me. Mine was the same as yours if you have Kite and Trevitt rather than either or, and Scott rather than Cole
