Stops those in the Stagecoach from seeing it.
Away end gives all home fans a view.
I‘ve always appreciated the information given from scoreboards at away matches, I think it would be good to position it where away fans could have a good look when attending matches SJP as well.

Encouraging news, but 100s of thousands on a big screen, when that could be spent on a plethora of other things, including assets that won't depreciate like a stone or player wages? No thanks

Stagecoach is the smallest of the home stands. Think it's a bit mean to not let the away fans see it...

But will those on the Big Bank need binoculars to read it ?

That is true. But the view from Arizona would be perfect!

There is nothing like a bit gross exaggeration to back the point you wish to make ! (n):ROFLMAO:

It would be nice to show stuff to all the away fans but it's a question of being practical with what we have.
For a lot of matches we're talking about a few hundred in the terrace who won't see it.
Those in the away block seats will be able to see a screen placed at the away end.

If it's in the gap between the Stagecoach Adam Stansfield and the Big Bank it can't be at pitchside due to sightlines from the SAS stand down to the corner on that side.
It would have to be set back towards the Jungle Path - then you have issues with walkways and Network Rail.
As it would be set back it would have to be more towards the Big Bank than the SAS stand and the angle to turn it towards the away end would be very small.
So those in the Away End terrace would see a screen at the other end of the pitch almost sideways on.

It's easier to effectively promote local events, club news and attract local sponsors on a screen that is visible to all the home fans.

No more than they would to see Archie Collins score in his favourite spot
Or Jökull Andrésson bantering with the away fans. ;)

The building and the pitch sound very sensible investments but I hate that we are going to waste loads of money on a scoreboard. There are surely so many things that should be higher priority than this. Did I miss the fan survey that showed that a big majority of fans are desperate for a scoreboard? I'd much rather see us subsidise ticket prices for under 16s for a season rather than purchase a fancy scoreboard.
