If there was someone with tens of millions of pounds, desperate to pump money into the club, I think we'd probably have all heard about it.
Would we?

Incredible that there seem to be endless people wanting to invest in every other club in the country except ours.

Negative thinking. I'm sure the population of greater Exeter is similar to that, and yes Brighton had someone willing to pump into the club, we may well have if the Trust were looking to sell.
What on earth.... Brighton is much larger than Exeter

That's not then taking in the sizeable towns very close within a 15/20 minute radius which would also eclipse what's outside of Exeter. Worthing down the road is only 20k short of Exeter alone!

This part, however - I strongly agree with (y)

The "who would ever want to invest in Exeter" is just ********, we're not cut off in any way an it's a booming city compared to a lot of others around the country.... it's a nonsense argument

They’ll have a long march to get to me plus I hope they realize we’re used to dust ups with pitchforks here in Sedgemoor.
Although we were soundly beaten on our last outing in 1685.
In relation to beaches, the closest ones to me are pebbly, the water is the colour of mud if you can even see it and the enormous nuclear power station spoils the view a bit.
But I still wouldn’t swap here for Budleigh or Brighton though 🙂
Oh dear are you sure

Depends what you consider catchment. Sussex as a whole has 1.6mn, compared to 1.2mn in Devon. But the west of the county is closer to Portsmouth, the North has Crawley in it and the east is just miles away from anywhere.
How many were Brighton getting when they were in the Goldstone Ground?

Similar to us now (whilst we were scraping 3k) but there are huge differences. Brighton has a real identity as a place, is twice the size as a town and was absolutely ripe for making into a larger team. Which they always were anyway.

In the 50s they managed to get in over 30,000 on a number of occasions, we’ve never got close to that.

Don't let the facts get in the way of such an entertaining discussion :)

I can only imagine that Max never had the "pleasure" of visiting the Wonderful Withdean over all those years.

I went to the Withdean with a Brighton fan to watch Exeter at the time when they singed Harley. I mentioned what a great player he was then he scored a worldy free kick against us!
