One GK who impressed me when he played at SJP recently was Shamal George of Colchester- he made some great saves- and his contract is up this summer. Or am I aiming too low

He certainly kept the score-line respectable for Colchester

A goal-scoring forward needed. I have it on solid authority that we've been keeping an eye on striker Tony-James Lee at Poole Town. Transfer fee may be involved and promotion has helped on this front.

If we sign him he would have to be very good to start

I mean that squad looks a really basis to build a good solid league one side for next season. As you say probably 5-6 players needed but Atangana, Ray, Daniels and Ground's would free up some reasonable wages as would Dawson (Although really want him to stay as he is the best Keeper we have had at the club for 13-14 years).

Dawson is best keeper since Kevin Miller

Other than Friend I wouldn't want any ex player who's still in the game and a realistic signing to come back to us next season.

Friend would be a quality addition.

Better than being a bench warmer at Wednesday…..particularly if they don’t go up?
He’s been worth so many points for us this season…..if you are right and he’s too expensive that’s a big blow.

Have read somewhere(can't remember) he is valued at £1.4-1.5m and wages of around 9400 pw we couldn't afford him but another loan may not be out of the question however he is the only contracted keeper at SW atm

He’s had an odd career. About 250 games in his first 8 seasons then right down to about only 80 in his last 8.
You’d think it should be the other way around for a keeper.
I suppose it’s because after he left Charlton he’s never been first choice anywhere so has sat on the bench a lot in what would have been his prime years.
Perhaps he’s got more left than his age alone implies then, if he still has the enthusiasm and motivation to continue.
