If Mansfield do not go up then Bishop would seem a really sensible, realistic signing for us to replace Dawson. Whilst i never though Dawson would be being here beyond this season, i am gutted now he only has one more match remaining as he pure class in goal.

I can't see Stansfield coming back but would like to see him back in the red and white.

Where does it say there that belueve the rumour to be true or that I think signing him is a good idea?

Apparently he's been transfer-listed.

Then when asked by Benjisheps where you'd seen it, I provided the tweet that is the source of the rumour.

Absolutely , Villa will want him to play league 1 next season so he isn’t going back to Newport. He’s a top player . Love him on loan

I’d like to stick with a 3412/21 so players fitting into that. Maybe an older, more defensive LWB to complement Sparkes being more attacking, and a RWB to challenge Caprice.

And as said before, a keeper, DM and a ST or two.

I do wonder what will happen with our CBs though, will we keep Sweens, Stubbs, Alex, Diabate, Grounds, Ray etc. Quite a few but who is really good enough for L1? Right now I’d only be sure of Stubbs - as much as I love them all… Say Diabate gets bought, Ray free transfer, Grounds not retained… We’d need a CB too!

Could be a fun summer.

I'd have thought that centre back was not a position we would need improvement on if we can hold on to them all.
Matt has said that he's going to give this team a chance in league 1 I would only expect a few signings, a new goalie is the main worry.

I think there is too much anxiety on these boards. Most of the teams who have been promoted in recent seasons have managed to survive in L1. Cheltenham and Cambridge made few changes to their squads. Therefore, we dont need much more than a tinker at the edges to hold our own. Having said that we clearly need a Goalie and 2 strikers
