Fillipo Ganna of Ineos Grenadiers took stage one of the Giro d’italia for the second year running...high hope expected for Simon Yates in the years Giro.
Who is going to challenge Ganna in any TT at the moment? The race itself looks quite open. Good chance for Yates and hopefully Hugh Carthy can continue to establish himself after the Vuelta.

Probably Ganna will clean up again in the TT like last year.

Egan Bernal coming back into form with a very impressive finish on the final 1:6 km gravel section in today’s stage of the Giro d’italia....good to see Remco Evenepoel second on GC after coming back from an horrific crash last year 👍

Bernal wins the Giro. Got himself ahead early with good work from Ganna and then when he looked like he might wobble when attacked by Yates and Caruso on consecutive days, Ineos had the strength to bring him through with Martinez and Castroviejo in particular having strong rides.

Good podium in the end for Simon Yates and a stage win. He'll probably be looking for more stage opportunities at the Tour if he goes or maybe look to the Vuelta.

Could have finished top if they'd made it round

Bernal seems to be over the back problems he was suffering from last year and only had one bad day in the Giro on a stage last week when he lost some time to Simon Yates....very good showing from Hugh Carthy to finish 8th on GC.

Geraint's last chance for a second Tour victory, would you say, Rosey?
