well, it had been a slow burn, but it seems that Sonny's loan spell at WSM has now caught fire!

impressive that not only he gets a hat trick (at 17) but also is setting up goals for his fellow striker.

That will have done his confidence the world of good. I wonder if he is the youngest loanee of ours to score a hat trick?

Well done Sonny Cox! He's job is to exceed there and he's doing it nicely. Fully expect to see him in an Exeter Shirt in the next two seasons

Just realised that Sonny Cox and his teammate Dayle Grubb may be fighting over the match ball as they both got hat-tricks in the same game!

Who gets the match ball when this happens?

I thought they would both get it. Even Weston have more than one match ball!

Many years ago I was at one of our frequent pre-season friendlies in WsM.
During the warm up Ben Watson ballooned a shot over the bar and out of the ground.
After the match I saw the ball in the car park. Presumably no-one went to retrieve it because it was ours.
There weren’t many people left around and I wasn’t sure what to do with it, so I stuck it in my boot.
The strange thing was it had Scunthorpe United’s logo on it, so maybe we nicked it from them.
I think it may still be in my shed somewhere.
I’ve never been to Glanford Park so haven’t been able to return it to them!

True.
Maybe I’ll wait another year or two then and give it back to them here.
