Jay is still an incredibly skilful footballer, not quite giving up on him yet.
Me neither also Simmo at the time when he broke his ankle was without doubt playing his best football since joining the Club.

This signing was not urgently needed, but it will provide cover for Stockley, keep him interested, and could become permanent in the future. What many of us think is that Stockley needs a mate up front : someone sharp who can buzz around the penalty area. Is Matt Jay that guy? He's taking a helluva long time to get into the starting line-up and it seems that Tisdale is not convinced. Think he should be given a real chance and if he can't provide what we need he should be released for next season.

Hopefully a decent loan signing, if Spurs have him on contract he must be pretty good, and loaning him out when raw should help both him and us. We shall see, but like the fact we are getting loans from the likes of West Brom and Spurs, didn't do that much in recent years

He looked good last night. Physical, can get us free kicks and not afraid to run at defenders. Certainly less of a target man than some on here think. I would say he is above Simpson and Macca in the pecking order.
A good signing imo

Jay is still young, he needs time to develop, look how long Reid was given before finally the penny dropped. Watkins improved very rapidly.

I thought Stockley and Jay looked good together against Barnet, and certainly worth another look as a partnership. I think the major hang-up with Jay is that he's quite short, but as a Tom Nichols-style poacher, he's got to worth a run in the side. He had a few chances against Barnet, hit the target with most (if not all) of them, he just needs that first goal.

In your view maybe, but they would have monitored him thoroughly before offering him a contract, and Spurs is better than Hartlepool :)
