At their meeting last night, Rushden fans were told they have 14 days to find £110,000 to clear their outstanding tax bill.

Former owner Keith Cousins told around 500 people that the club would be handed over free to anyone willing to come in, with total debts of around £750,000. Cousins also confirmed that Kettering had approached the club about a merger, but the two sides were not able to co-exist as seperate entities in a groundshare as it was against Conference rules.

Cousins also said that Gillingham had not paid them money owed from the sale of striker Simeon Jackson, while manager Justin Edinburgh had been approached for another job.

So YET ANOTHER small non-league club royally financially shafted by a (ex)CCC "galactico". :(
