There were some good pics of the city v aldershot promotion day 77 on here but can’t find them. The team photo as they came out. That was a great day in the cow shed then sat on the grass bank.

There is a a great blown up photo in the Centre Spot yesterday of the pitch invasion at the end of the game in a exhibition on the walls.
They will be there today I would imagine.Well worth a look if you get the chance.

This is one from the Doncaster match, signed by Kells, that I picked up a few years ago off eBay. Only cost a tenner or so as it's a reprint - not an original press photo. Not sure when it was signed but would guess from when Kellow did some functions at the club in the early 2000s.

The latest edition of When Saturday Comes has a feature on League Two 2008-9

Amazing to remember how we finished 2nd with 79 points, losing 11 games - which seems a long way short of what will be required this season.

Also some of our opponents that season; Bournemouth, Brentford & Luton on the one hand - Chester & Darlington on the other.

In fact only 6 of the sides in League 2 that season, are still in it this.

That day at 'Rotherham' will linger long in the memory. Had the privilege of being sat next to Deano's parents and partner.

Great end-of-season run to gain that promotion, especially away from home.

Olds - Any cuttings of Barnsley and Doncaster away in 76/77 remember there being a good one of the fans on the pitch at Doncaster and the classic headline City go one, two, three, four at Barnsley.

Kells was a legend but Alan Beer was also a class act 52 goals in 114 appearances. He was incredibly unlucky as before his career ending injury in 1978 at the age of only 28 he looked destined to go right to the top both domestically and internationally with Wales.
