My concern with that line up is that we’d lose the midfield battle.

I’d go:

Cam
Key, Stubbs, diabate, Hartridge, caprice
Sweeney
Collins
Jay, Brown
Zanzala

I'd go the same but put Sparkes on the left and Caprice on the right. Leave Key out? I know it's a tricky one!

Vale Park is a *very* wide pitch. It'll be as much about exploiting/defending the flanks as worrying about the middle of the park. For that reason, I'd start Coley and give Brown a breather for Saturday. (And I think Coley is also a little bit better in defensive positions). If we're recalling Dyer, then play him. And don't mess about with the back three.

I'd go something like this.

Dawson
Sweeney Stubbs Hartridge
Key Collins Dyer Caprice
Coley Jay
Zanzala

Subs: Diabate, Sparkes, Amond, Brown J, Phillips, Brown S, AN Other/No-one

You can't drop Jevani.
And as for defending, I thought he was excellent yesterday. There was one moment when he had the ball under pressure on the edge of our area, but did a 'see you later' on Nicky Adams and got the ball away safely. Probably the highlight of the first half.

It is a very wide pitch .A couple of seasons ago we were one nil up at half time at Vale Park . After the break Vale exposed us relentlessly in behind the wing backs and won 3-1 .

There is also lots of room between the stands and the pitch (especially on the left, as you look at it from the away end). Plenty of long-throw run-up for Hartridge.

I'm not dropping anyone. He's the one attacking player who has not had a breather. Get him on for the last 25 mins, after Coley has stretched them for an hour or so.
