Tory Councils with Tory MPs taking the Tory Government to court to stop asylum seekers being housed in their constituency. Doubtless they will use lefty lawyers to make their case. Guffaw...

Well them lefty lawyers do successfully derail everything. Very wise to get them on your side innit.

Almost as ironic as ‘refugees welcome in Scotland’ SNP MP’s constantly giving the Government pelters for its attitude toward illegal immigrants while all bar one of its 40 odd local councils are refusing to house them in their local hotels.
I even watched a Liverpool Labour MP yesterday thanking a Tory minister for his constructive dialogue as he attempts to move out some migrants from an “unsuitable” hotel in his constituency.
Hypocrisy rules! 🙄

Good to see Scotlands first minister preaching how the government up there is too white !

Dont remember him saying any of that in his election speech.

I especially liked that one of his first acts in his Bute House residence was a performative prayer session with his family members as they broke fast during Ramadan.
No female members of his family were allowed to join in of course. 🙄

On both sides.
…in that outwardly anti-immigration Tories are actually quite the opposite and are only saying stuff to suit public opinion in their constituencies?

Not from the Guardian. Only a fringe issue after all, not worth worrying about

It’s just a rehash of announcements on the issue over the past few years.

The usual nonsense about insulating homes, which won’t made any difference. Money thrown at people who can afford to do their own insulation if they were minded to do it.

Although insulating your home is often the most energy saving and single most effective thing that a homeowner can do to save the planet.
