A rather interesting YouGov pole out tonight.
Sure, but whatever the journey they got there in the end (think the "true Conservatives" are saying the same about Truss). The worst thing that can happen for PR right now is a Labour overall majority. I think that's still unlikely, but the chances have definitely improved from 2 years ago when it was unthinkable. What makes me laugh about this is just how nakedly party political a lot of the change in attitude is - not about what system is best for the country at all but just what suites the political tribe at the time. All are probably guilty but the best illustration is the Labour vote - in 2011 (only a year out of power) most still felt that FPTP was the route back to No10 but in the past ten years it has dawned on them that the SNP are a here to stay obstacle in that respect and hence the switch to preferring PR.
Bloody foreigners, coming over here, taking all our YouGov jobs.A rather interesting YouGov pole out tonight.
Starmer is against putting any mention of PR in the Labour manifesto apparently.Sure, but whatever the journey they got there in the end (think the "true Conservatives" are saying the same about Truss). A plan for growth based on greening the economy providing well paid jobs and securing our energy supply? How disappointing is that?Rachel Reeves in a very polished speech yesterday actually put forward zero ideas as to the challenges we face economically in the next few years. Genuinely disappointed.
