Seems like young Marcus has been quietly involved in helping feed children from poor backgrounds long before this Covid highlighted his charitable work, No doubt giving something back after his own experiences from when he was a child. Good on you lad 👍 But as I've said earlier, In the 21st Century in the 5th/6th richest economy we are still relying on the goodwill of people so that the poorest in the country can it. Shameful. 😟

As a slight aside, a very good friend of mine has gone to work the USA and has his green card etc. He has to self isolate for two weeks so decided to sign on and is getting £285 a week (the equivalent in dollars obviously) for the fortnight of self isolation. I’ve no idea how they do benefits in the states but that seems fairly generous.

I wonder how many 'shy Trumpists' there are across the US? It is easy for us to sit here and shake our head in disbelief that anyone could consider voting for him again but that means nothing in terms of what will happen. I have no relatives or friends in the States and so have no access to anything beyond what I read in various sources. However there doesn't seem to be any huge positivity for Biden (in the same way there was for Obama, and Clinton B), it's very much relying on the 'I'm not Trump' line, which doesn't strike me as an especially healthy place to be in a country that is naturally Republican.
Not actually the case.

Year 2000, IIRC that was so close there was some controversy about the holes punched in the voting cards, Basically when a hole was not a hole and if some counted. Bush V Gore I think.

It’s going to be an anxious 11 days for the Global Populist Movement and Steve Bannon its Chief Strategist. Nigel Farage will be mopping his brow, as well as his own.

Boris Johnson will be having nightmares - Pelosi waving the GFA in his face, the watching Merkel and Macron giggling hysterically. You have to feel for them all.

Thanks for putting me right Mike. I was coming at it from a right leaning vs left leaning. Clinton Bill wasn't exactly radical left leaning, and the way the college system works, it's not much use fpr the Dems to keep piling up votes in California and New York in terms of winning elections. But point taken!

I think our pro united Ireland American friends often forget there’s another community in NI with concerns about how the GFA is applied post the transition period.

The other community in NI doesn't want a border within Ireland either, trade or otherwise. They also don't want a border in the Irish Sea and customs paperwork to fill out when trading with the rest of Britain.

Vote Leave hasn't thought this through, Tav.

Stick with your day job sonny. And your fleet of luxury cars. Lolz.
Being the racist bigot that you are, I'm not surprised you should say that..
Just remembering your shameful words on a post a couple of weeks ago.....

"Then days later we understand Sue Barker has been let go against her wishes to let someone in that is of colour. That for me was the last straw.".
