While I'm no fan of Farage, the headline misses out the important word 'primarily' which is in the report.This from the FCA:
"The City watchdog says it has found no evidence to suggest politicians' bank accounts are being closed primarily because of their views."
As society becomes more cashless and more payments leave an electronic trail I'm not a fan of banks digging down into their customer's views even as a factor towards restraint on their finances.
Money laundering, sanctions busting, criminality is another thing.
So too are whatever commercial rules the bank has clearly set out in respect of the type of account provided.
