Cannot ever recall seeing one filling up at an ordinary fuel station

Freedom of movement was advantageous to UK businesses.
Well of course it was. Wasn't so advantageous to the indigenous population however. Hence Brexit.

However we've got to a state where we don't have enough qualified HGV Drivers from the UK and one of the Government proposals is to make the HGV test easier, Not sure if I want a "Easier Qualified" person in charge of a 44ton articulated lorry or one carrying inflammable or hazardous materials on our roads.

Quite regularly happens at the Tesco/Esso garage in Heavitree.

The fuel pumps were dispensed with at the gas depot in Exeter around 1995(along with others around the region)The reason given was the cost of getting ad hoc deliveries.
Cheaper to use fuel cards & get the discount that most offer to large organisations.

'Twas you who made the comparison to Canada and Australia.
Canada and the US in particular keep 'freedom of movement' for business purposes.

But you recognise both Canada and Australia have larger immigrant populations than the UK...
