It was probably used to prop up their cash flow for a while while they tried to attract new funding.

Could see this coming for quite a while, I'm really not surprised. Shady foreign investors, crowds far too low for the CCC, dreams of building a £50m 45,000 all seater stadium (isn't Anfield that size? )
