Scott Hiley
I recall one of the memorable away trips to Crawley in the Conference when Scotty was playing for them.
When he was substituted towards the end he got the most enormous ovation from City fans leaving 'the baggage-handlers' totally bemused!
It must have been one of his last games as a pro.
A City legend and no mistake....

Interesting..When i saw Bill Lambton I wondered if it was the same fella who was Leeds manager in the late 1950s(prior to Don Revie) & it is.

Dave Harle..A classy player. His parents stayed at my mums B&B in Dawlish Warren when they visited him.Dave would pop down in the afternoon after training...I remember him saying how popular Brian Godfrey was with the players.

Stan Charlton(Snr) played for the Grecians, his son also called Stan played for Orient & Arsenal & was Weymouth manager for a few years.
Stan(Jr) lived in Weymouth & was a regular at the Wessex Stadium until his death in 2012.
A interesting friendly fella I was once introduced to whilst in the social club at Weymouth before a game.

Stan junior played for City too!
From the Archive!
Stan Charlton Junior was based at Woolwich Barracks with the army.
He was the son of the famous Exeter player Stan Charlton. He made his debut against Tonbridge in a Southern League match that saw Keith Harvey play his first game for Exeter City Reserves on the 14th of March 1951.

He played as a right-back in the practice game on the 4th August 1951, and for the reserves throughout the season.

After leaving Exeter he joined Bromley before joining Leyton Orient in July 1952. He played every game for Orient over the next two seasons before moving to Arsenal with Vic Groves in a joint transfer valued at £30,000 in October 1955.

Stanley Jnr, was Ex-England Amateur international right back who missed only two games for Arsenal in 1955/56

He played 99 First Division games for Arsenal, before he rejoined Orient in December 1958, In 1961/62 he was captain for them to the top flight In the 1st division. Having played nearly 400 games for Leyton Orient he moved to Weymouth.

He became Weymouth's player-manager in May 1965, and later their company secretary.

I was just going on what he told me,he mentioned coming from Exeter & playing for Orient & Arsenal but did not mention turning out for the Grecians & playing in the Southern League(I assume the reserves were playing in those days)
