Sorry things didn't work out for Edwards. When he started with us I thought wow, this kid is fast and direct and will shake up a few defences. He seemed to go backwards in his development and eventually became just another squad player, lost all his ability to surprise and if he beat a player he would go back and beat him again before eventually losing the ball. He should have just worked as a winger operating up the left hand side, not running all over the pitch looking for the ball, can't understand why this wasn't coached into him. There again we seem to have a host of forward players with the same remit, maybe that's just our way.

No great loss to us at the moment but still a player that could find his place, realise his strengths and come back to run rings around our defenders one day!

I actually thought against Sutton Edwards was trying to be a bit more direct but unfortunately there still wasn’t much end product. If he’đ been one of our own he might have been worth persevering with but I’m not surprised he’s gone back to Bristol.

I'd have agreed with you until about 20 minutes but the fact Callum has been made captain of the under-23's this afternoon suggests he may not be completely out of the manager's thoughts.
He seems to be doing his best to prove us wrong.

Wonder if clubs will start to look at us in a different way when sending out their young loanees. For all the good publicity MT got for Dara O’Shea and Jokull, he doesn’t seem to put much trust in the rest them.

Abrahams, Edwards, Cundy, Richardson, D Wilson, J Brown and even Ogbene hardly got a look in under Taylor. K Wilson used out of position often in his second spell. Obviously you can’t begrudge MT anything, if they aren’t good enough then he can’t play them at the expense of the team. Just wondering if it will have an impact on clubs sending us their talent?

He seems to be using the loan market in a different way now with Willmott, Dawson and Zanzala, so maybe he doesn’t want the gamble of young loanees anymore anyway?

Richardson played loads and Ogbene would've featured more once he got fit but then he got injured. The rest were no better than what we had but play an important part in filling out the squad. The risks of the loan market

Plus the archetypal experienced loanee in Amond.

Interesting. Two things from City's perspective. When we send loanees out we want them to play regularly, not to be filling out the squad. And we have overall a comparatively young inexperienced squad so its natural to look to balance that out.

On MT's record, the important things is that loans work - like with Dawson and Andresson, both hugely successful despite the contrast in experience. Managers/Darren Moore will want to send us more based on both Dawson/Andresson

He should get decent game time in a struggling Colchester side - can see why Bristol have done it.
