Why is not all this "told me" information recorded for all members to have access too?
As Trust Members we are either in this together or not - ALL Members MUST be included
Why?

Not all 4300 trust members want to 'have access' to all information. They are quite happy with paying their £2 a month into the trust knowing that they trust the trust and club to do their best for ECFC.

You obviously dont and have a problem with the trust board, so why dont you stand for the trust board and effect change from within.

One things for sure, bleating on exeweb isnt going to achieve that.

If you do not want to access information then you do not have to. Some may. It is a good discipline for organisations to be as open as possible. Otherwise you have information management and in whose interests is that conducted ?
Also I do not know what I do do not know.

We, as humans, have this brilliant thing. Its called a gob and if I need to know anything then I ask, If I dont, then I dont.

I think that you will find that most organisations, including those that are run for the people (communist party anyone?), dont over deliver on the comms front. Why commnicate for the sake of it.

for the sake of open communications, I am going to have a Jam session at around 1pm and then I might have a walk around the food fair here in Mijas. Exciting isnt it........

There is this new fangled technology called a website. You can post information on there and people can choose whether they want to read it. I regret to say that if you had a website where you posted what you were doing I would not look at it. Successful organisations communicate and engage with their staff and with the outside world.

So someone asked Nick a question and put the answer on here. Some people just like making mischief for no reason.

This discussion wouldn’t be happening if some people back in the day didn’t dig deep to look after the interests of the club. I wonder if they would do it again

I’ve been a continuous member of the Trust since 2003, so obviously support it and its purpose.
That said I don’t know anywhere near as much detail of its history as many others on here.
A recent Senior Reds meeting with David Treharne was helpful in going towards addressing that for me though.
I do like that our club is owned by the Trust and I still think the benefits it brings outweigh the potential restrictions that may also mean in relation to our growth and development.
But when you see what’s been achieved in recent times e.g. the significant improvements to SJP (with more planned), the incredible facility at the training ground (including securing it’s freehold) and of course most importantly the steady progress on the pitch (and the success of our women’s team) it’s testament to everyone who’ve been involved with the Trust and Club over the past 20 years or so.
Especially those who’ve been so generous with the financial investments and time.
We now have an opportunity to improve our situation further by acquiring a substantial area of land and property in and around the stadium.
I can’t see any sensible reason not to proceed as recommended by the Trust.
I appreciate that there are some issues to be resolved further down the line but if the chance is there now and we have the means to bring the assets currently owned by OTR under Trust/club control I say do it.
What we’ve got and where we are now is like a dreamland compared to the early 2000s.
I know perhaps some more recent supporters get fed up by some of us who’ve been around longer talking like this and I understand and agree with others who are vigilant in their scrutiny of the Board’s activities.
But it can often take almost completely losing something you love to really appreciate how much it means to you.

I remember one place i worked there was a lot of 'rumour' about moving premises and similar things, the boss called everybody together one day and said; "I've called you here today to tell you that i have nothing to tell you but, when i have something to tell you then i will call you all together again and tell you."

Nice post Bridgy. Some of us who recall the pre Trust years ending in the near demise of the Club are prone to slightly hyper vigilance.

We do also have to balance the fact that some things have to be kept confidential, especially financial negotiations around property purchases.

We also have to acknowledge that the Trust is predominantly made up of volunteers, I think it’s just the Finance Officer & Secretary who get remunerated.

Therefore it has no organised comms or media team at its disposal. Maybe it should?

I find the Chair to be an approachable guy who, if he can, will answer any questions a member puts to him.

With a little bit more strategy applied to comms I think the right balance could be struck and most members would be satisfied.

In the 1970s there was talk of building a stadium for football rugby and speedway out near Bramford Speke.
Maybe that's what they are still talking about.
I think Rob Baxter's family own a fair bit of land round there.
