What other sports are you lot interested in other than footy and which may have a chance of returning sooner than others?

My other main sporting interest is horse racing and I really don't see why that cannot return very soon unless the jockeys pass the virus onto the horses then vice versa!

I notice in America, racing is still happening albeit a reduced schedule and with no spectators.

Surely horse racing will be one of the first things to return due to the nature of it? Without paying spectators of course.

Boxing too maybe? I hate boxing with a passion but from a virus perspective, so long as the two fighters and the trainers / physios and ref are tested then a fight could take place? Not that i'd watch it of course but it's a start. Not too many people there need testing and fights not every week so a possible.

Surely golf could be played right now?! Golf is a no brainer and could be played right now with social distancing easy.

Any thoughts?

Speedway, mask the mechanics up, and let the tapes up! Seriously though, I think the problem with all sports starting up is the travelling aspect. And also any sport that carries any physical risk of needing hospital treatment. Until that gets lifted, not much chance.

Me too. Love a good joust and better still the apres joust 🍺

Is it true that you were present at the joust between Henry VIII and Charles Brandon Duke of Suffolk ? There was a dodgy looking character lurking in the dressing room that day as I was serving the post joust ale and sweetmeats. Looked as if the poor fellow was gasping for a fag before tobacco arrived here.

How about track events? Could see new world records as runners frantically try to get away from anyone near them as they run round the track.

Was thinking the other day that a singles tennis tournament may have possibilities, behind closed doors of course....maybe a top twenty world ranking competition men and women’s with an open draw round by round instead of seeding.

Most of my summer weekends are spent beside an athletics track watching my eldest. She will be luck if she gets to compete at all this summer.

Golf is the obvious one. Realise it is marmite as a sport but social distancing almost goes with the game. Pro golf will be back if they can sort the travel out. Recreational golf will probably be allowed relatively soon. Don't touch the flag or rake the bunker, keep the clubhouse shut.

T20 cricket could possibly be done. Do away with the umpires on the square (do everything by DRS) and there aren't any close fielders apart from the keeper. Non-striker could run a pitch or two to the side.
