Opening ceremony 23rd July.

Team GB had stellar success in London 2020 & Rio 2016.
I wonder if the team can get near those highs again ?

It’s going to be especially difficult for all the athletes to push beyond their normal limits without the inspiration and excitement created by spectators…a real shame for all.

Given that 80% of the Japanese public seemingly don’t want the Olympics anyway , it’s a disaster.

Yep a massive shame, these people dedicate their lives to getting to this event, I really feel for them not experiencing the buzz of the true occasion

Potentially a complete and utterly farce of an event. The best move would have been simply to cancel it, but of course it must go ahead simply because of finance (TV and Sponsorship dictate that). Whatever happened to the Olympian Ideals ?

Yep...The IOC would have had to reimburse all the finance already given, which no doubt would have given the Olympic Committee immense embarrassment.

One of the reasons the PL were keen to continue in 19/20 was for that very reason.

Covid has been found within the GB team. These games could descend in to farce.
