Villa in need of a striker

Think they're in for Batshuayi on loan from Chelski

Nothing in that really, Most teams in the top two divisions have made lots of changes to their line ups for these cup games, Their priorities are always the league

Yeah appreciate that, just thought they might have him on the bench in case needed.

If there's a transfer in the offing maybe they wouldn't want him cuptied.

We've made 10 changes to our squad for a game that really no one will remember if we lose, Same for Brentford and a lot of other clubs. I'm of an age when the FA Cup was important and the strongest team played, Nowadays it is down on the list of priorities. As for not wanting him cuptied RW, The teams that are supposed to be interested in him probably wouldn't win the Cup and their squads are big enough if a new signing was cuptied anyway

Yup, pretty much. There was only one regular first team player (Ethan Pinnock) who played against Stoke, the rest were either first team subs bench warmers or B team players.

The first team have played a lot of games recently and simply needed a rest. Not playing them of course also prevents any possible injuries.

Nothing more in Watkins' absence than that IMO.

Agreed and Brentford now have the PL firmly in their sights.

From the man himself: Brentford striker Ollie Watkins says interest from Premier League clubs has given him a 'nice feeling,' but that he won't be leaving the Championship side this month.

Watkins: Nice to have PL interest

Liverpool sign 21 yr old reserve striker from Brentford. Not clear what the fee was due to poorly written article. Seems an odd one.
