Safe to say that English clubs generally didnt get the decisions in European matches. It was a common theme as I seem to remember?
It especially seemed the case when Italian teams were the opposition. The most infamous being AC Milan buying a bent ref for the European Cup Winners Cup Final against Leeds in 1973, everyone watching knew what had happened.
The referee admitted being paid off a few years later.

Here's a scene from old MOTD (etc), snow-covered pitch, orange ball, invisible markings ... jumpers for jumpers.

Post match, Ipswich manager Bobby Robson said it was time to get the flame throwers out to deal with the Millwall hooligans. Not shown on the footage, but there were numerous pitch incursions trying to get at the Ipswich supporters. Not great numbers travelled from East Anglia that day, as you would normally expect for a FA Cup 6th Round tie.

It never did get permission from the GLC(the ground licence authority) to be turned on.
Ken Bates, never short of a word or two !

Great footage of Stamford Bridge with the dog track still in situ. It was used for car parking into the 1990s.
