Spring 1979.
Dave Green & Roy ‘Pat’ Green upgrading the floodlights at SJP.
Roy Green was the duty electrician at SJP for many years.He & his son Dave carried out floodlight maintenance in the close season.
No Cherry Picker to work off in those days.

Great photo. Probably not too many City fans that night in attendance. Eamo is much missed.

I think so. That would be Jim McIntyre with Danny B. Jim scored a peach that night and did well for us on loan.

Quite a few teams in the north that the Grecians would have been visiting for the first time.Barrow,Carlisle,Gateshead,Hartlepool,Darlington Workington.
I would imagine the team would have travelled by train in those days.Certainly would not be able to do that these days because of the cost & the difficulty getting back to Devon after the game with the rail network as it is now.

In the last match of the season 1963-64, the team arrived back at Exeter St Davids from Workington around 1pm on Sunday lunch time, having travelled all night. They weren't using sleeper carriages either !
