Never done this before
25th August 1990.

First game back in Division Three after a absence of 6 years, was a disappointment.
The first loss at SJP in the 32nd game since the last defeat in May 1989(W 26 D 5 in that run)
I imagine that is the best unbeaten home run in the history of the club.
A win ration of nearly 84% at SJP in that period.
I was at that game - Steve Moran's goal was an excellent free kick IIRC.

He was certainly a lot trimmer that day than when he turned up to play for us a year later.

Didn't stop him scoring though. Quality finisher was Morano.

Interesting to see that the clubs with the lowest attendances haven't fared too well with the exception of Rochdale.
Also some clubs whose fortunes have improved too.

That was our first season up in the old their division so probably a bit disappointing although that season petered out and we were never in with a shout of going up or down. Torquay were promoted that season but their average of under 3k is still hardly surprising.

91/92 Season.
Seasons best at SJP 29/12/1991 against WBA.(1-1)

Torquay season best against ECFC : NYD 1992 (1-0)

The Grecians survived-Just.Finishing 20th.
Torquay finished 23rd 6 points behind the Grecians & hence relegated due a appalling away record. No wins & just 5 draws. They had a decent home record.
The only time in my 50 years watching the Grecians that both teams have played in the 3rd Tier together.

70/71 Attendance Average.
I find it interesting that Torquay’s crowd numbers sank so rapidly by the mid 1970s,relegation in 1972 to Division 4 would have had some effect.
Most teams in the bottom two divisions took a hit,but theirs seemed out of kilter with other teams.
Just 3 seasons later they were down to around 3,400 whilst the Grecians averaged 4,200.

Saturday 24th April 1976.The league tables after the final Saturday of the season. As was the norm in those days there were always a few fixtures to wrap up after the last Saturday.
The Grecians completed their season on the Friday evening with a 5-4 win against Scunthorpe at SJP.
A fantastic game that I still remember all these years later.
Alan Beer completed his hatrick with a goal in the last minute.
Lincoln had a FL record for a points total(2 points for a win)
Hereford,Champions of Division Three ! They had been in the FL for only 4 seasons.
