The King is Dead. Long Live The King!
Yes all a bit dodgy.
The ground as with all 3rd & 4th Division clubs at the time would not have needed a Safety Certificate because it was not covered by the Safety at Sports Grounds Act 1975.
There was little or no crowd management in those days & certainly no stewards except a couple of old boys in the Grandstand to point out your seat.

The temporary terracing stayed until early the next season iirc.
Anyone any idea of what the capacity of the temporary terrace was?

I doubt it would have held more that 500-700 from what I recall.

Credit to Steve Darke for finding this. On Pathe website, City's replay at Stamford Bridge; all of 59 seconds of newsreel that would have been shown in cinemas. Commentary from Mr Cholmondeley-Warner, no mention of whether Chas 'Charlie' Charles was on the wing.

I do remember but I don't think my version was the Valiant. Possibly "Inside Football".
Incidently I wish that I had kept my copies of Inside Football there is a webaite selling copies at just under £30
