26th August 1939..These results would soon be null & void..’Digger’ Ebdons double chalked off in the record books.
Ebdon played for the Grecians post war.
Interesting looking at the Southern League results.Arsenal competing in the league.

31st March 1984.
We all knew that relegation was inevitable despite being just 5 points off safety.
Just 7 more points were collected in the next 10 games.

A photo from July 1974(?) Interesting that the players addresses are given.
Hedley Steele after a couple of seasons at SJP had a long career in non league in the South West.Playing until his early 50s.
Pretty sure I saw him playing for Willand Rovers at Dawlish when both clubs were at the top of the Western League,he must have been around 50.
Reading his bio on the excellent Grecian Archive he turned out for Willand as a sub at 60 !

Hedley wrote most of his biography. Trying to get him to add up the number of games he has played! Extraordinary!

Easter Weekend 1950(7-10th April)
3 games in 4 days.
I remember until the late 1970s & beyond that sort of fixture list in a short space of time was the norm in the Easter period.
