The picture is a bit blurry but it looks like those are fixture posters on the walls. I think "Luton T" is one of the teams. Might help with the date.

I used to love walking past the ground as a kid and seeing those fixtures (1970s), with names like "Port Vale", so exotic!

I’ll guess the 1966-67 season.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
I’ve never seen a old photo looking down St James Rd toward Well Street.
When I first visited SJP(1971)there was a large Exeter City AFC sign between the turnstiles & Cowshed facing up St James Rd towards Old Tiverton Rd.
It was certainly there until the early 80s.

A great image of Tony Kellow after he had completed his hat trick against Leicester in the FAC 4th Round replay Jan 1981.
Zoom in & see the silhouette of the fella in his flat along St James Rd.He had a prime view of the games sat on his stepladder(hence his nickname to many of us as stepladder)
I can remember seeing him from the early 1970s to the 1990s watching from that vantage point.

March 1977.
A good crowd at SJP.
A lot of interest in Watford at the time after Elton John had recently bought the club.

At the time, that defeat at Crewe looked like the end of City's promotion chances: note the outfield sub for injured goalkeeper Key. Lee Roberts' debut (loan) but Geoff Gay (also loan) went in goal and manager Saxton got sent off.
