Billy Bingham's World Cup success was very impressive, but beating Germany (West) home and away was maybe even more extraordinary. Check out the Euro 1984 qualifying table ...

Both games are on YouTube if you want to check them out. Worth watching.

More sad news from the TT races today, This time a Father & Son have been killed in a sidecar race, Their family must be devastated, Especially the Wife/Mother, To lose her Husband and Son in one go. RIP.

I've been watching some of the TT on ITV4. The sidecar races are absolutely effing insane. I mean check this out below. And this isn't some well designed race track...these are just normal streets with houses, trees, brick walls all around. One wrong move and you're dead.

The sidecars always freak me out more than the solo bikes. They have so little ride height and suspension movement that they always look incredibly unsettled over the bumps you get on a public road, even though the IOM road surface is probably better maintained than most public roads because of the TT. You definately won't find any pot holes on those roads.

The man who started the attack that led to the famous Gareth Edwards try in the Barbarians v NZ match in 1973. Outstanding in South Africa in 1974. RIP.
