In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
I remember him most playing Paul Krendler in the film Hannibal and the gruesome scene where Lecter cuts out a piece of Krendler’s brain while still alive, gently fries it and feeds it to him.

RIP
Awesome scene.

I had forgotten that Liotta had played that part.

A fine actor. RIP

Piggott was one of those people who even if you'd never bet in your life or followed horse racing you just knew his name and was a jockey. Didn't he have a tax problem he got into trouble for? RIP.

Lester Piggott was a great jockey; maybe the best flat race jockey ever. He won races that no other jockey would have won. He could be very hard on a horse though and would not get away with this type of riding in today’s world.

He was however a notoriously mean man and when a jockey was killed in the 1960’s he was bottom on the list of donations from other jockeys at £5. It has also been been suggested he accepted a year in jail to avoid paying the financial penalties that the Inland Revenue were prepared to accept.

RIP

From the obituary on the BBC website.............

Associates would recount the story of a jockeys' valet who whispered in his ear: "Lester, can you lend me five pounds?" Piggott indicated he could not hear, so he whispered in his other ear: "Can you lend me 10 pounds?" to which the jockey replied: "Try the five-pound ear again."

The 1972 Derby on Roberto comes to mind.
