Part of the singing trio in 70's kids TV show, Rainbow, Freddy Marks dies at 71. Another part of my childhood gone.

He and the others broke out to do their own spinoff show - The Rod, Jane & Freddy show. And there was a bit of a subsequent love story triangle between the three of them.
The love triangle is a bit of an urban myth. Yes Jane was married to both at different times, but she had been divorced 5 years before she even met Fred.

That's awful news. Played in the same team as him after his City days, real nice lad.

Dick Manley aged 89 , Exeter rugby great from yesteryear . In 1963 became the 1st Exeter player capped for England also played for the Barbarians. He was a self employed cabinet maker who lived and worked a few doors from me at the time , a true gentleman , eventually became the club President .

Ben Roberts, best known for playing Chief Inspector Derek Conway in The Bill from 1987 to 2002, has died at 70. Quite sad for me as I'm going through all the series of The Bill on UK Play and he's quite a main character. RIP
