Didn't realise that when 12, Terry Hall had a terrible ordeal when kidnapped by a teacher and abused for four days, This had a profound affect on him and made him a virtual recluse at an age when his peers were out being kids, I always remember his shyness at interviews which now makes sense but on stage came totally alive, The Specials played at Exeter Uni in an afternoon gig at 4pm (Reason i remember this was because a friend nicked a rough, hand written poster advertising the gig) Must have been 1977/78ish?
