My thoughts on the retained list are;

(Gk) Ward
(Gk) Maxted
(Rwb) Key
(Rcb) Sweeney
(Rcb) Dyer
(Cb) Parkes
(Cb) Diabate
(Lcb) Hartridge
(Lcb) Moxey
(Lwb) Smerdon
(Lwb) Sparkes
(Lwb) Dickenson
(Lcm) Law
(Lcm) Jay
(Cm) Dean
(Cm) Atangana
(Cm) Kite
(Rcm) Collins
(Rcm) Taylor
(Rw) Iseguan
(Lw) Randall
(Att) Bowman
(Att) Ajose
(Att) Seymour
(Att) Wilson

Released or to leave / retire are;

Woodman
A. Martin
Warren
Richardson
L. Martin
Holmes
Fisher
Simpson
Arthur
Stafford
Chrisene (poached)

I think our retained players could compete admirably without strengthening. Interesting times ahead.

Would be OK with that bar Aaron Martin. I’d like him to stay. Could see him going to a low L1 club though. And obviously would rather Chrisene stayed for many years but I imagine you’re right in your prediction.

I too would like A. Martin to stay. Just have a suspicion he wont. Maybe the current crisis may influence this.

36 on Martin's list.

I read somewhere there are over 3,500 "professional" players in the PL / EFL this season, 4,000 if you include the lower leagues (not sure how that's calculated, though). That's nearly 40 per team. Brutally, the game can't survive like this - not gonna be that many after June; maybe close on 1,000 players out of a job. Of course every June two or three hundred retire or are not kept on and move down the ladder or leave the pro game anyway, but the turnover thius year is going to be exceptionally high. We are clearly better placed than most L1 and L2 clubs, but even at ECFC some hard decisions are facing us.

Nelson Iseguen and Jack Arthur are both first year scholers I believe so will both still be at the club as second years. Although they could be offered pro contracts when they turn 17 which might be a good idea.

Surely we would want to keep Aaron Martin.

Anyone know if Dean Moxey,s contract will expire as Tisdale probably signed him on the sort of money City will no longer be able to afford and he is no longer a first choice player
