Another defensive formation , another draw? Some time we have to branch out , realise we’re not playing Manchester United , and really have a go at these teams. Then we might , just might , become serious promotion contenders.

It's those dotted lines either side of Nombe's name I don't like. I don't want him running right and left. For me, a switch to a back four would help him stay central where he can hurt teams.

Almost there for me. I'd switch out Caprice for Brown and move Key to full back.

I just see Caprice as a more solid defender, possibly going 4-3-3 with dropping Key to the bench for Brown is another option or 4-2-1-3 same back four with Collins and Atangana in front Edwards freedom to roam and front three of Nombe Jay and Brown

Sod it. Let's go 3-2-5. Jumpers for goalposts. Finney on the wing. Marvellous.

You realise that is the formation now when we are on top of games 😉. Three centre backs is not a primarily defensive set up. It really comes down to the positioning of the wing backs. When we are on top they are wingers, but when we are up against it they become a back five. It is resisting the latter and the wing backs being braver that is the key to the formation.

We do though have the personnel in the squad to be very flexible with formations this season. Sooner or later, Owura and Josh Coley will both get starting opportunities which will necessitate a change of formation.

This would be me my team as well, although I would swap the positions of Key and Caprice as personally I think Key is a better defender than Caprice and also think he plays best when he is an out-and-out right back,
