Well, looking at this excellent photo on the City Twitter of Lee's opener, had the ball not gone into the net it would surely have been a penalty instead?

I mean, not even out dear old Pete could deny that one???

This ref isn't going to give penalties. Prior to this corner Bowman had been wrestled to the ground, ref not interested.

I was thinking that, funny old game when you want Slime to win! A draw would be o.k!

Nah, come on you robins!:):):):):)
I see The Class of 92 are doing us a favour by winning at Crewe.

It does look like Haynes is saying 'Come on Lee, move away, nothing to see here."

Unfortunately for Bowman, his record goes before him.

Physical first half with not much passing going on. We have come with a game plan which has worked so far, but the last 20 minutes of the half they had some good chances and we were under the cosh. Very good then to survive until half time and regroup. This is going to be a battle against a very committed team and a very impressive noise from the home crowd despite being 1-0 down.
The small pitch and some occasional weird bounces haven't helped with the passing but, despite the lack of free-flowing football, the commitment of both sets of players has made it entertaining. We dominated the first 20 without creating much from open play and Newport will be disappointed how easlly Lee Martin was allowed to score. After that Newport came back into it and forced Ward into some decent saves. We're possibly a little lucky on the balance of play to be ahead but am not complaining.

Some big decisions for Matty re second half subs.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Woody come on and City go to 4 at the back.

I dont believe our 'big gun' Randall Williams has touched the ball yet!

Took the corner that led to our goal didn't he? Usually requires a touch.
