Sounds like he reckons he can do the deal at that level. The grass ain’t always greener suspect he’ll be out of a job come next summer
Lots of people saying this, but Rotherham didn’t sack Warne despite his relegations, they clearly understand the difficulty of staying in the championship and give the manager time in the same way we do. It seems like the perfect job. He’s not off to a basket case like Edwards going to Watford.

If Matt goes, and it seems possible from the interview, the club will have to decide whether to advertise or headhunt. I would be surprised if we go for an established manager at this level. That hasn't been our style under the Trust. Whoever comes in must demonstrate they have a good knowledge, or idea at least, of how the club is run and what is expected in order to get past the Trust interview. We don't seem to be in as good a situation when it comes to appointing from within if Wayne doesn't want it.

Maybe we could complete the triangle and approach Liam Rosenior who is a very highly thought of coach who might kick on as a manager given the time he would likely get down here. He should last longer in Devon than his old man anyway 🙂.

This might not go down well on here but another decent possible appointment would be Paul Wotton. He has done a really good job at Truro and has good links with us so will have an understanding of the way we run. I know people will be sceptical of the jump (and the other thing 😉) but he has always struck me as being very Matt like as a manager.

Whoever we may end up with I don't think it will an obvious choice in many supporters eyes. Not our style. Obviously the best thing would be for Matt to stay.

With most Championship clubs that would be true. But Rotherham stuck with Warne even after relegations, they're not sackaholics, which is probably a factor in Matt's thinking.

Not mad just a Grecian saddened by possible loss of manager we will find it hard to replace given our financial circumstances and current defensive injury crisis.
Also concerned that our best coaching staff & players may follow in due course.
That's why I'm sad.

He's moving to Rotherham not PSG

Matey boy who joined as coach the other week gonna be the new manager then?
I wouldn't have thought so. Although he has been with big clubs, he's not been a manager. He has also spent a fair bit of time in education. All very worthwhile but a long way from being good enough for this level I would imagine. If Wayno goes/turns it down I would say Kevin Nicholson would be the only one that we could recruit from within. Like the passing of the Queen, we all knew it was coming, but it's still a shock and disappointing when it happens. Still, I wish him well, he's been fantastic for us. Many thanks Matt.

One years salary. Should've got him on a 2 year roller
Not enough for a centre back , might help towards Sam’s treatment though.

My memory might be wrong but I recall an interview with Julian Tagg just a few months back that he had people in mind, if Matt Taylor moved on, so I'd expect a prompt announcement if MT does leave.

Paul Wotton isn’t a bad shout. As crazy as that might seem.
