We needed continuity and above all we needed a speedy appointment at that time. I think our coaching set up is as good as we have ever had. Any money coming back in should be partly spent on a GK coach again to complete the line up.

Although it hurt like hell, last season is being coloured too much by the play off final. We will never know where we would have ended up if the season hadn't been ended when it was. But what there was, was a good season.

Now, we have to forget the "Ollie money" to an extent and not get blinkered into a short term outlook. Only bring in essential players in positions we do not have a youngster coming through. We can rate a youngster all we want, but until they play in L2, we don't really know. And the only judgements that really count are those at the Cat and Fiddle.
It's each to their on as to what they see as an essential player though. How many have already said that we need a partner for Bowman or even replace Bowman (as they still can't see Bowman for what he is instead of seeing him as what his partner should be) whereas we both can see Seymour and Ajose there already given fitness and opportunity.

It's a difficult sell to say we might have to take a step back in order to move two or three steps forward. We have players coming through in almost all positions but a signing here and there could block a position and hamper progression. Now not all of those youngsters might be out and out successes, but the opportunity to see is there now. It's a big call to hedge against a position we have been building for almost twenty years.

With a new season about to start probably not the place to critiscise our manager, just hope he can produce a team and a plan to find some success this season. Strange times and we seem to be be back in the post 2004/5 transfer embargo days and having to play our own kids. Hope those lads can step up to the mark and the more seasoned players give us the experience and stability to build on. Not overly impressed by Matty's ability to find good players and slot them into a winning formula so far but hey ho, let's go City!

During Matts reign we have always started very well and only dropped away towards the end of the season so how well we are doing should become pretty evident early on.

When you look at some of the chancers out there who are managing some clubs, you appreciate that we have Matt in charge,he may not be perfect, and he would admit he hasn’t got it right all of the time but in the main he has done well so I think we made a decent choice !

Bowman is like marmite with city fans but with Matt he is guaranteed to be on the team sheet each game.

Am overall happy but have to keep check of his naivety. Demoting Sweeney and Ajose when there is obviously no one willing to sign them from us was only going to be bad. May as well include them in training, matches etc to get them fit and as close to maximise their performances.

Enthusiastic, committed, passionate manager possibly a little obsessed with thinking we need to keep a clean sheet to win a game of football...needs to find a goal scoring striker to avoid possible turbulent waters ahead.

Awaiting the rise of the academy boys.
I think success should be judged on the quality of football on the pitch, the number of youngsters progressed into the first team, and the league position should be a minor consideration as long as we are not flirting with relegation.

I cann only imagine that it was a ploy to get them to buck their ideas up, think Frank Broome put the whole team on the transfer list, he knew nobody would want them perhaps that was a bit of a wake up call for them.

What was it Ajose said when he signed, "One thing you will get from me and that's goals!"

I would say he has done exactly as expected.

Got us in the play offs last season, although got it massively wrong in the final.
Has made some good signings and some not so good.
He plays a cautious way and can be pretty boring to watch at times, but he seems to get some decent results.

I think it should be a case now of see what happens next season, when he now has to play youth players and maybe have to think about the style of football more.

If he doesn't make the play offs then questions will have to be asked.
