It’s been mooted that Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes is being considered for the AFC Wimbledon managers job...Groundbreaking,unless you take into account the appointment of Gabriella Benson(Cherie Lunghi) to a second division team in 1989 😎

Although not actually a manageress Lady Brady was rumoured to be pretty hands-on during her time with Birmingham.

Championship club Bournemouth have sacked manager Jason Tindall, who was in charge for just six months. Eddie Howe was a hard act to follow and not worked out for them promoting within.

Maybe too old for day to day stuff but could see him as a DOF with Frank Lampard as manager?

I think Lampard got the job too soon, only one season experience, but couldn't really turn it down. I'd be surprised if he didn't turn out well as he did a good job at Derby after the money taps had been turned off by bringing through young players. He has done similar at Chelsea with the transfer ban but of course Chelsea now want the title and nothing else is good enough.

It will be interesting to see where Utd end up after sticking by Solskaer. Currently at least they seem to be going in the right direction although I doubt that they will win the title. They seem to still lack a bit of belief compared to Citteh.

The only way more unfashionable named British managers are getting jobs in the PL who haven't been there before is by being promoted there. Dean Smith and Chris Wilder for example. Graham Potter is an exception.
The problem for managers at elite clubs nowadays is that they often don't get to choose the players that are contracted, yet they get judged on their performances.
Managers aren't magicians : if players come in they need time to adapt or maybe just don't fit in.

Apparently Hayes has considered this an insult to women's football. You can see her point - why would someone in charge of the top team in the Super League want to give that up and go and work for a small relegation threatened third division club?

Very fond memories of Gabriella benson btw:cool:

Indeed....Though it’s up for debate about the relative standing of WSL against a tier of the EFL ?
