Forlornly hoping for the newly available John Terry. He'd be the perfect fit in terms of my feelings for them.

Nah, Dongs are only getting 400k compo for Martin, hardly likely to be enough to make Tis swallow his pride and principles even if Dong's did want him ! More chance of him replacing Barton back at Rovers, but the odds would be pretty long even there !

Assuming Tisdale hasn't become yesterday's man I reckon he might be a good punt when Duff at Cheltenham gets poached in the near future.

First managerial casulty of the season is Notts Forest's Chris Hughton, sacked after their dismal start.

They said on the wireless earlier that NF have had 14 "permanent" managers in the last 10 years. Quite remarkable.

I think their previous owner Al-Hawasi got through nine and he was there for 5/6 years. The current owner Marinakis seems to be following the same path.

There comes a point with owners where you have to start thinking perhaps the issue is the chairman/owner, rather than a succession of sacked managers accompanied with zero progress either on the pitch, or in terms of improved infrastructure. I'm not aware of their current owner doing much for them off the pitch - and they've certainly not progressed on it.
