Seems Oxford are keen to talk to Charlton's Dean Holden.

I'm keen to see how this appointment pans out as he was linked with us when Cowley left in January - and from people I've spoken to who know a fair bit he was one of those seriously considered.

I was reticent about us employing him given he'd had one decent campaign in League 1, but that was after taking on a project that Russell Martin had instigated which was on a positive trajectory - but then went to pieces in his second season in charge.

There were lots who said, in his defence, that he'd been stitched up as a result of them selling/returning to parent clubs many of their main performers and the DoF not replacing as well - which seems credible - but will be interesting to see how he fares at Oxford.

I'm expecting him to do okay between now and the end of the season as it looked like Robinson's time had run it's course and the players knew that and they've a squad that should be good enough to win plenty of games. It's next season I'm interested in.
