The Athletic are reporting today that QPR are in advanced talks with Wycombe for Ainsworth to become their new manager.

Several bigger clubs have tried to get him before, but all have failed. I don't think that QPR are likely to persuade him to give up his security IMHO.

If any club might tempt him outside the PL it will be QPR. He was there a long time and caretaker manager twice whilst player-coach.

Haven't kept up with their ownership these days. Have they still got the
Italian connection they had when we suspected foul play in the transfer of Mackie from Argyle to them, "stitched us up" in relation to our sell on dues ? I recall them being hit with massive fines over whopping budget transgressions to get themselves promoted from the Championship.

No, it's Tony Fernandes and (pauses to look up tricky Malaysian name) Ruben Gnanalingam. Les Ferdinand is Director of Football. They have been there quite a while and are much more stable now.
